The Evaluation Committee of the Decentralized South-South Technical Cooperation Programme concluded on Thursday (04/10) the selection of projects registered in the second call of the Programme.

55 proposals were received from several Brazilians’ states, municipalities and public consortia. Two proposals, involving four locations, fully met the criteria established in the announcement of the program and will receive up to $ 200,000 each to implement actions of international cooperation.

Approved proposals: Technical Support for Structuring the Citizen Security and Violence Observatory in Morón, City Hall of Canoas / RS with the municipality of Morón (Argentina), Integrated Development of Services for Citizen Support, City Hall of Curitiba / PR with Municipality of Rosario in Argentina.

The Review Committee is composed by representatives from the Undersecretary of Federative Affairs of the Secretariat of Institutional Relations of the Presidency (SAF / PR) and the Brazilian Agency for Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (ABC / MRE), institutions that coordinate the program, and members of the National Confederation of Municipalities (CNM) and the National Front of Mayors (FNP).

The initiative has been evaluated based on items 7 and 8 from the general provisions of the Program and took into account: objectives, results and activities clear and well defined, suitability of the proposal to local reality, social impact, technical and financial management capacity, budget compatibility and counterpart of the foreign partner’s local government.

The unprecedented program of SAF / PR and ABC / MRE aims to stimulate the exchange of experiences, the institutional strengthening and technical training capacity at the international level between the entities. The selected initiatives join the other two, which passed in the first call of the program.
