4th National Conference on Food and Nutrition Security
The
4th National Conference on Food and Nutrition Security, which has as a motto: “Adequate and Healthy Food: A Right of all”, will be the moment of the great agreement for the sovereignty and food security and for the promotion of the human right to adequate food in Brazil.
About 2.000 people will participate in the event, among delegates, guests and observers. The 26 states of the Federation and the Federal District will be represented, respecting the diversity and plurality of the country. Two thirds of the delegation – selected during the municipal, regional or territorial, district and state conferences - will be formed by the civil society and will have among its representatives, indigenous communities, “quilombolas” (maroons – traditional communities originally founded by descendants of slaves), afro Brazilian population, “povos de terreiro” (traditional communities engaged in African original religions) as well as other traditional peoples and communities.
The National Conference will have the presence of Governors, Ministers of State, parliamentarians and observers. It will also count with the presence of national and international guests. It is an event of undeniable importance in the national agenda, with political visibility and repercussion in the media in general.
